- An inductive sensor, also known as an inductive proximity sensor, is a type of proximity sensor used in various industrial and automation applications to detect the presence or absence of metallic objects or targets within its sensing range. Inductive sensors operate on the principle of electromagnetic induction and do not require physical contact with the target object to detect it. Instead, they generate an electromagnetic field and monitor changes in that field to detect the presence or absence of metal.
