Description
A cartridge heater is a heating element used in a variety of industrial and commercial applications to provide localized and concentrated heating. These heaters consist of a cylindrical stainless steel tube or sheath that encases a resistive heating element, typically made of a nickel-chromium (NiCr) alloy or other suitable materials. The resistive heating element is often tightly packed with magnesium oxide (MgO) powder to provide electrical insulation and efficient heat transfer.
Cartridge heaters are commonly used for applications like heating nozzles in plastic injection molding machines, sealing bars in packaging equipment, heating elements in industrial ovens and furnaces, and as preheaters in 3D printers, among many others.
